it may be too much CPU or too much Memory. Open your task manager and check how much cpu chrome uses when the engine runs. If it is near 100%, remove one cpu and try again.
if that wont work, set memory to the lowest value, then go up step by step/restart chrome as long as it works. Especially on older computers 1GB Memory may be too much.
Same problem when i set memory to higher values than 128MB, but i used to not notice it already. After about 3 crashes every time, it starts to work properly on 1GB. PC is fine, about 6GB free memory, intel CPU.
