I think this is an excellent idea and wholeheartedly support it.

To recap, lichess is not a image upload/sharing service. However, it would be nice to have some inline chess diagram support.
I guess storage space is a factor and space on a chess server could be used in better ways. If I'm wrong, I support picture uploading too.

I very much like the minimalistic design/setup of Lichess.
Light weight, fast, and very easy for the eyes.
I would not like images upload option on Lichess.
It can make forum threads quickly chaotic and unpleasant.
If I play team match games on chess dot com, I'm sometimes greeted by huge photos of various "gore" and sensational "nonsense" as well as over-sized font usage. No, thank you. Not more of that, please.
It would however be nice to have a chess game pgn viewer in the forums, or just chess diagram embed option somehow.
For a long time I've wanted image support too, but I agree with archja.
If you want images you can go browse google. This is chess.
Chess.com has tons of clutter and images contribute a little.
In future, only post in this forum if you agree with me.
