Hi Lichess Team,
I hope you’re doing well. I wanted to reach out because I’ve been experiencing a very strange issue on my account. Whenever I log into my Lichess account on my normal browser, I’m unable to click on important options like “Play with the computer,” “Create a game,” or “Play with a friend.” The cursor turns into a blocked sign (like a circle with a slash) and the buttons simply don’t work.
I tried several things to fix this on my own:
- Logged out and back in multiple times
- Cleared cookies and cache for all time
- Disabled all browser extensions (including ad blockers)
- Tried using different Chrome profiles and different Gmail logins
- Even tried logging in from a different account on the same browser
None of these worked. The only way I can get it to work is by opening an incognito window, where everything functions normally — I can click “Play with computer,” start games, and everything loads as expected.
This makes me worried there might be some kind of persistent session or local storage glitch tied to my account, or perhaps a very rare bug on Lichess’ side. I want to make sure my account is completely okay and not flagged for anything (I have never cheated and I always play fair — so that’s very important to me).
Could you please take a look at my account from your side, check if there’s any hidden restrictions, or see if there’s a deeper technical issue causing these options to be disabled when logged in on a normal session?
If you have any other troubleshooting steps or if there’s a way to reset something on your end, I’d be very grateful. I really enjoy using Lichess and would like to get this fixed so I can continue playing and studying without problems.
Thanks a lot for your time and support!
