Timeout with 43 seconds on the clock

Hello. Just curious if anyone else has seen similar. I just played a 5 3 game where my opponent played a move I hadn't foreseen so I took some time to decide if I had any defense. After a think, I decided what to do, but before I could make a move Lichess timed me out, and gave me a warning. I had glanced at my clock before having a think and really didn't think I was that close to zero time.
This seems to have been borne out as when I went into Analysis mode, my clock showed 43.1 seconds remaining! I've never seen this before. Previously when i've timed out there may be a few hundredth of a seconds on the clock but never 43! Is this normal? Is my intuition that the timeout came too early possible correct?

It seems you are talking about the game https://lichess.org/gqkaf3kO/. The remaining time is the one after your last move, 29... g6. If you switch to the "Move times" tab below the board, you can see that you used 43.2 seconds pondering on move 30, i.e. all of your time, and so timed out.

Do not bother about the warning, it is for users who habitually let their time run out instead of resigning which can lead to playbans. Occasionally forgetting about the clock in a difficult position is not going to trigger that.

Thanks for the reply! I had misunderstood what the analysis board is showing by displaying 43.
I appreciate the clarification.
