The 'play against computer' levels don't have floating rating anymore so how should

their nominal ratings be interpreted? I know that they don't have the normal interpretation, but I'm just wondering the reference behind the decision of the specific hardcoded numbers (1400 level 3, 1700 level 4 for example). Was the intention to roughly match lichess rapid? lichess blitz? lichess classical? or fide? or what? Probably some people will answer "learn how glicko works noob you cant compare ratings across different rating pools" and for them maybe if the number is completely meaningless then lichess should just remove it?
The Stockfish levels have estimated ratings, 6-8 are the most difficult, so 6 sometimes plays like closer to 5 or 7, thats how i see it.
I have played against the Fairy-Stockfish levels many times.
They have been programmed to use Opening Books i think.
I have noticed level 6 playing 1.f4 or 1.g3 lately.
Ok, so SF level 8 plays the best move, (supposed to)
, and going backwards 7, plays the next best choice (2nd best move or 3rd).
They make random moves, the lower the level.
Example: SF level 6 makes 30 3rd best moves, and suddenly makes a built in blunder.....
When you match the computer on level 3 it says 1400. A lichess person typed "1400" into the computer at some point to make it say that. I'm wondering, what did that person have in mind when they typed that number.
That Person estimated that level 3 plays like a 1400 player roughly....

OK @stauntonstyle but my entire question was what they mean by "a 1400 player". That has a different meaning in every rating system and player pool.
