Temporary ban bug or what?

Hi everybody! I got a temporary ban. I got a notice on my screen that I am banned for 1 hour. In fact the ban lasts 1 hour 40 minutes. Can someone clarify it please?

The message already clarifies for you. You abort games or leave games instead of resigning

I guess you are seeing (down) rounded numbers. Just like when a tournament starts: everything from 1 h to 1:59 h will be shown as 1 hour.

If you keep aborting games, you will find out if this rounding takes place with days instead of hours as well...

Fair enough. That could be the case, thanks. However the issue of aborting games doesn't come from a desire of a person to abort any game. For istance I do it when I get paired with a player 200-300 below my rating as we all have an option to set up a rnge of players rankings who we desire to play. However Lichess regularly ruins these setting offering match ups for players with a vast ranking difference.

Except this is not what happens (according to your game history).

Well, maybe not always in the range of 200-300 points, but definitely not 50 points below my rating as I've set it up. Here are the last 5 cases: 125 poins difference, 209, 116, 153, 116. These are 5 games out of last 10! So what is the point of this range to be set up if it is not being followed by Lichess?

Do you seek manually (custom), or do you use the preconfigured buttons on the start page?

Well, I think I did it manually. I reset the settings once again. let's see if it keeps on happening or not..

I agree that when you use the manual option (custom / create a game), the given limits should be respected - I think they are, but I haven't used them recently to confirm.

Any filter will not have any effect if you use the preconfigured buttons, which mean something like "give the best match you've got".

I am not sure if any set limit is respected when you go from one game to the next via "next game" on the just finished game (instead of going via the home page). I think there was a discussion around this some time ago, but I cannot remember the conclusion.
