Server Latency - High Ping Reason

Hello all,

I have been facing a bug with my connection with the Lichess servers. I found my internet to be perfect with other websites (like chess.com, chessarena.com), and I notice a two second lag in my moves. This has been happening for a month now, and it becomes really frustrating when it comes to shorter time controls. I literally run around everywhere to get a proper signal.
I play arena tournaments, and when I berserk, the time becomes shorter. I try to play one move per second, but it becomes impossible as there is a two second lag in my move, which becomes 1 move per 3 seconds.

I request someone to explain this to me and fix this.
TIA

check if lichess is lagging for you and other details here lichess.org/lag
I reported this only after seeing the lag location. It seems the ping is high only in this website, for me.

what do you mean by a "good internet" , what is the result you get upon running any of the internet speed tests ? i have never experienced other websites to be faster than lichess at any circumstance.

you mean on this website but also
imagine connection as roads to places
thats why chess.com may work nice but lichess wont because of different roads

i reccomand using winmtr to analise your connection to find the problem

What is the value shown by lichess.org/lag? Does it account for the entire 2 second delay?

It approximately says a 10 millisecond delay. But this is not the case for the real games. I have not seen the values while playing games. I sit for playing chess at a place 90 cm away from the router. I'm not able to express my bug by pictures or videos.

And, as an edit, it isn't always for 2 seconds. It is sometimes more or even less too.

10 millisecond delay

Your profile flag says India. If that is where you are, I don't think 10 ms is possible. This site shows examples in the low 100 ms.

Could be lower from different cities, but not by much.
