After 1.Qd2 Nc4 2.Qh6 Re8 3.Nc5 Qc8 4.Qxh7+ Kf8 5.Rf2 Ne4 6.Qh8+ the King is going for a walk on the open board. I was able to foresee that much, and that was enough for me to determine that Qd2 followed by Qh6 was the crux of the problem. Now maybe a human player would not abandon the knight. Maybe he'd prefer to go out Bongcloud style. From the Black side, I cannot say fore sure what I'd do. Abandoning the knight is not playing "like an idiot," but making perhaps a pragmatic concession that losing the knight is less foreboding than wandering a naked king around the middle of the board with all the heavy pieces still in play and three half-open files for White.

In any case, the puzzle is not wrong, which is the claim made by the OP.

If you're not able to foresee that you have to sacrifice the knight in the next move then you didn't solve the puzzle properly. Because in that position your rook is hit by the knight and the knight is hit by the queen. If you look at the game white didn't find Nc5 and found himself in a clearly worse position despite the fact that black's king is in the center. The point is that unless you see the knight sacrifice that makes the king be naked you didn't solve the puzzle correctly. The king is still safe behind the pawns.

@Luminica I'm maintaining a 2100 puzzle rating. That doesn't happen by accident. Typically I do not play the first move on a puzzle until I have visualized the entire most critical line, often taking 15 or 20 minutes to do so. (The computer does not always play that line, often giving away material early to avoid something worse later.)

In this case, no; I did not look into it as deeply as usual; but once you open a puzzle, if you don't solve it, it negatively impacts your rating. I admit I took a hint from the OP's comment, but my goal was merely to refute his assertion that the solution was "wrong."

I don't CARE what White did in the game. I guess White just missed it then. Not surprising in a 7-minute-no-increment game, where looking 12 or 15 plies deep is just impractical. Besides, even GMs occasionally blunder in MUCH longer time controls.

Please don't reply again, hijacking the thread just to unjustly attack someone in an off-topic rant.

I just went back to check the puzzle again... I was wrong, the puzzle isn't... Sorry for waisting your time.. Don't know how or what I was thinking couple of days back to make this claim.. Now I'm puzzled.. maybe solution was wrong when I made this post, and now it is correct.. :O JK...

If you don't understand why Qd2 wins because you don't see how to respond to the most obvious response then how can you claim you solved the puzzle? The response the puzzle gives is nonsense, it doesn't test if you know why Qd2 wins.
Please don't ask to not reply again with a random reason that makes no sense because you're not smart enough to come up with a good argument.
