Pulling data from lichess

So say you wanted a live counter of the number of online players on lichess on another website and/or something that records the number of players on lichess every minute or so to make a graph of players online throughout the day. How do you do that? (I have knowledge of java and python, but that's about it, so if you want to explain in JS/HTML/CSS, remember that I only have very extremely basic knowledge of HTML and don't overcomplicate. Is it even possible on excel?)

Seriously, this is a legit question. Why is nobody answering?

@A_0123456 why downvote me? You cannot accept the truth. Toadofsky is a developer thus he can get an api.
