Prevent blocked users from spectating your games

I don't see a search bar on this forum, so I'm not sure if this feature has been proposed before. My apologies if it has.

There is a Lichess user whom I have blocked, but who continues to regularly spectate my games, despite my having blocked them.

Needless to say, this is very distracting and annoying, and it impacts my performance in games as well as my enjoyment of them.

I've looked through the privacy settings and it seems there is no option to limit the spectating of your games, even to blocked users.

I would think it intuitive that a blocked user would automatically be blocked from spectating someone's games, but if not, could this at least be added as an option in privacy settings?

You could probably write some sort of script that would block out the name of the spectator that bugs you so you wouldn't know they were spectating.

Alternatively you could try "Zen mode", which makes only the board and clock visible to you. Then you can fully concentrate on the game without looking at the spectators.

To turn on Zen mode, visit preferences, "Game Display", third from the bottom.

There is no option to block someone from spectating your games, there is simply no way to stop someone from even viewing your past games.

The only thing blocking someone does is stop them from messaging or following you directly (unless you do so first)

This will most likely not be changed by the devs there has been lot's of discussion over it and I can't find the forums but... If I remember right it's because if you can block people that way it can be abused by some to get preferential matchmaking and can also be abused as to prevent players from playing games.

@SlavMorality "I don't see a search bar on this forum, so I'm not sure if this feature has been proposed before. My apologies if it has."

Oddly, the search option only appears on the main forum page, not the individual forums. I guess it's a balancing act - too many text boxes on the nice clean pages vs too many repeated topics where people aren't aware how to search. Personally I don't think adding one more text box on each forum page would be overkill, but what do I know?

Lichess should probably provide free counselling for its most fragile users. So hard to witness such unbearable suffering.
