Practicing certain openings.

I guess we've all been in the situation where we've been researching/studying a new opening and wish to practice it online.
Trouble is, if I want to practice playing the Closed Sicilian, all I ever seem to get is e5, Caro Kann or French replies to 1 e4! It can be dozens of games before I get the opportunity to play against a Sicilian player.
I'd love to be able to send a request to anyone willing to play a Sicilian against me.
I'm not sure quite how this would work - obviously it wouldn't be a rated game. Any ideas? I really think this would be an excellent function, and one I have never seen on other chess sites.

Closed Sicilian is actually my favourite opening. Anyway Interesting topic even if i don't know how it can be made.
I would be glad to play against you. (i don't especially care about rating.)

I think people wanting to practice certain openings might well account for a lot of those times where you accept a challenge, then your opponent aborts the game after your first move. I'm not proud of it, but I've done the exact same thing on other sites in the past when I've had my 50th 1...e5 reply in a row!

hmm maybe, when playing long games, should ask your opponent via chat if he is ok to play according to your will.

We can play thematic tournaments. Casual tournaments are a great way to quickly play many games (if more people would join them) and the creator of the tournament can add rules (like a specific opening, a rule that the king can't move, a rule that the first person to take five pawns wins the game, et cetera). If all the participants of the tournament follow the rules, this could easily make it possible to both practice certain openings and try chess variations.
