I have a screenshot of this:
My last game, as of just now, my opponent request a move reversal...I didn’t notice at first. When I scrolled down and saw it, suddenly I was receiving increments of 15 second additional time; about four of them. And in my five minute game, I was a few minutes into, became 7 minutes on my clock...???? Any ideas how this was done?

The time was added in the messages space: like the payer was messaging me a ‘gift’ of 15 second increments. And my playing time kept increasing

See https://lichess.org/account/preferences/chess-clock#giveMoreTime to disable.
#3 has it right. But you might find it worthwhile to quickly read through all of the other preferences to see if there's anything else you wish to change.

Thanks bufferunderun.
But that link is helpful for me to make a time selection but doesn’t explain how someone gave me time in the game chat that reflected in my clock? How can someone just give me time? I am not being ironic.

The messages in the chat are just for information. They add time by pressing the +15 secs button.
