It seems that it is not possible to create a study on the lichess mobile app? Anyone know why this is?
It is not possible, I heart time ago lichess was working on a new app with this feature but I have had no more news.
A trick to access your studies on your phone is using lichess on your phone's browser (activate Desktop site first on your phone's browser). It is not as user-friendly as the app but at least you will be able to check your studies.

I would recommend trying to use your lichess account on lichess.org instead of using the app
