ie: little box beside board that shows the moves as you go...
- e4 e5
- Nc3, etc...
Not sure if this had been suggested before, but I would find it helpful.

Baaaaa. :)
It's used by Chessmaster LIVE! (Xbox 360) and most interfaces I've seen, but I guess the reason Lichess doesn't use it is because it's minimalist--refraining from adding to the interface with things
that might serve as potential distractions.
I would find it quite helpful as well in cases I end up WTF'ing at certain points in really quick games, but if need be I can always use the link to replay and analyze the game, while it's still in
session, if I really want to know.

And a Baaaaa back to you.
I suppose the minimalist thing is quite attractive and it's easy enough to check through the analyze... you've got a point.
Well then, my other suggestion would be to have game statistics available, as I see there were more than 2 million games played, it'd be interesting if we can drilldown into those.
ie: when white goes 1. e4 has 50% chance of winning and black responds either 1. d5, 1. e5, etc... with these percentages, and you can play through the first several moves and see statistically how
well they have faired on this site.
I suppose it goes against the minimalist thing as well, but would be cool.

Ah so an opening database viewer :D
Kind of like the one at shredderchess or 365chess websites
I've always been dreaming one of those to be integrated here somehow, but either sir Thibby just ain't interested or it's just one of those things that he doesn't deem more reserve for in the server
maintenance. (In fact he had to recently stop showing the rank on most people's profiles, <1500 ELO, just to keep those reserves.) I think it would be awesome if he could, though.
Right now the only game statistics is the time stats for rated games "view games stats" link, showing this many moves took x seconds, that many took y, pie and line graphs, all that usual colossal
stuff thibault does to keep himself informed XD

Thanks for sharing those sites - that's exactly what I was looking for and have already found it very useful to work through certain openings I have difficulty with.

365chess is more maintained with up-to-date tournaments and such, but shredderchess, while only having master- and grandmaster-level games, has a few oldies in its collection that 365chess doesn't
have for some reason. And then there is always Google or correspondence database sites.
Meh, any particular reason you use the name Sheep XD

Heh, well on the off chance :D
The reason I was asking is because it turns out I was born in 1991, the Year of the Sheep. So in Chinese astrology that's my sign.
But I'm sure you meant to bleat in your reply; the forum filter just wouldn't let you do it. :P Now go master some openings.
