The new interface improves by showing a whole game with analysis, but it removed an important analysis feature.
Say the program gives a move one or two question marks. And my opponent did not make the correct response. And I don't know why it was a mistake. The computer does not tell me. It used to. It used to keep analyzing all positions as I went up and down the tree.
Say I am White. The game goes 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Ba6 Nf6 4. Bb5 and so on
Computer analysis of game tells me that Ba6 is ?? But it does not tell me why.
Correction: It will tell me if my opponent does not make a good response, but I am still not able to go up and down a tree like I used to, with it calculation moves for both sides along the way.

@fweep778
Are you saying that when you do a server side analysis, you will be able to see that the move Ba6 has a ??, but it does not make a comment saying what are the best moves?

I realized that I was seeing a response. But my main issue is that I cannot go up and down a tree of moves while the engine is calculating. It stops. And I am frequently left wondering why it picked a certain move in its sequence, and there is no answer.

This is sort of the way chess dot com has its computer analysis. And why after having a subscription there, i nevertheless ended up playing all my games here, because the computer analysis followed me whichever moves i played.

Or, for example, I see a move that I missed, and now I think it looks better. Say Nxe5. I can't play it now on the board, and have the computer analyze it. First, it won't even let me play it as an alternative on the board.

There is no "new computer interface" or something like that. You just forgot to turn on your local engine via the toggle in the top right corner or the space or L key.

Benwerner: I am using Lichess on an ipad only. I have not intentionally changed any setting, and I see no such setting in the ipad app. Where would such a setting be?
