Missing a step when trying to host a simul

Hi, here are the steps I'm following:

  1. From homepage, select PLAY menu then "Simultaneous Exhibitions";
  2. Click on "Host New Simul";
  3. Enter the name, type of game, time controls, etc.;
  4. Click on "Host New Simul" button on the bottom of the page;

Then I get a page with the cancel button on it, and "Share this page URL to let people enter the simul".

I don't know what that means exactly. If I go back to the "Simultaneous Exhibitions" page, mine is listed under "Your Pending Simuls", but I can't get it into the "Newly Created Simuls" section.

HELP!!!!

Thanks for reading.

Only simuls of titled players show to the public in "newly created simuls".

Okay fair enough. But I see lots of simuls underway being hosted by players with ratings as low as 1100. What am I missing here?

You only see those simuls after they have started, in the "currently playing section". If you want to get your simul there, you only have to start it. But that's obviously not very useful if you are looking for players since nobody can join after that.

This is why there is the "Share this page URL to let people enter the simul" part. It gives you an URL that you can send to people and if they click on it they can join your simul. Alternatively, your followers should also get an entry in their timeline when you create a simul and so do followers of people that joined your simul.

Generally, when you create a simul, you have a specific crowd you're playing against, e.g. your viewers when you're a streamer or maybe a few friends. If you're not a titled player you won't really be able to find random players for your simul here on Lichess.

That makes a lot of sense. Many thanks!
