There are currently only four generic phrases for the chat when playing anonymously, which is unfortunate if you would like to let your opponent know that they are not cheating stealthily enough, e.g.
https://lichess.org/zM0SLklL/black#0
.
I don't mind playing the occasional cheater when logged out as this is what I have come to expect there. However, it would be fun to have an option along the lines of
• "I like your engine!", or
• "What engine are you using?".

I wish the site had an option to switch on chat in anon mode. I'd enjoy the trolling and anyone who doesn't would just not turn the chat on.

This site is hugely, awesomely great...however the games, the rating could mean nothing unless if played in person. Please dont blast me

It was very much possible to send arbitrary messages in anonymous play until they fixed it a year or so ago. You could use the websocket from the browsers developer console and chat away. Lichess only limited the chat box in client side javascript, so you could even send insulting messages and rapidly spam stuff. Not exactly good practice shown by the developers - good thing this is a chess site and not a bank site...
I once verified that it was actually working by sending a 10-minute mail to an anonymous player, who I got in sort of a "He won't move and I'll keep adding time to his timer" situation. Surprisingly enough he actually responded and told me terrible things about my mother. Fun times.
Only once did I encounter another player who knew about this and who sent me taunting messages during our game. They were cheating though and probably had that function built into their cheat add-on.
Anyways - adding new buttons for calling someone a cheater would lower the bar for accusations to a point where the new buttons would lose their meaning entirely. You'd be called a cheater every game you win and call out everyone you lose against. It's anonymous after all, no reason to show etiquette... Which is why this is a bad idea.

@PriestOfKek
Thanks, interesting read. Are you sure this many people are so toxic on anon that it would become that meaningless? To me getting called cheater on anon would feel like a compliment...
