So I've been using lichess for a while etc. etc.
I went to analyze a game, and the green button above the moves to turn on analysis was on the top left side, not the top right.
I thought it was something with my browser, but i changed the magnification and checked on a different computer.
You may be thinking that I am nitpicking some change (and in all honesty I am), but why would Lichess do this? They are moving the buttons around. The consistency is very comforting. I will get used to it, but what is the purpose? There is no gain from changing the button, and now thousands of people will spend the next few days/weeks getting used to clicking a dozens of pixels to the left.
Why? It is just a useless change that there was just no reason to have.

I want to mention that playing against the computer hasn't worked since. I want to say that is because of the "computer wait time, but it only happens sometimes. Just tossing that out there, and I'm probably dead wrong.

Yeah, I have seen that. You mean practice with the computer, the target icon. This is unrelated to the (still not fixed) Dying Swan Bug.
Seems the error kicks in when the computer is dead lost/close to losing just like DSB but in this case it does it when it is close to winning also.

My LiChess Tools browser extension has a feature to put the button back on the right side, @oofmagoof , but I didn't publish yet the version because Google has been keeping the extension in review for the last 3 days. Probably Divali related :) Be patient for version 2.1.47.

I like the new position more, before this change the button often collided with other controls (e.g. the "show threat" icon and also something else next to it).

Yeah I noticed this when analyzing games. Seems like one of those "developers want to make changes" changes that wasn't really necessary.

Well, if you use Stylish or Stylus (which work for Firefox as well :-P) Just use this style:
div.ceval div.switch {
order:1;
}
and the button is on the right again.

Controls got shuffled around due to introduction of the gear menu in the upper right where you can choose engine settings.
Also, there hasn't been a pink or purple arrow in awhile. Feedback forum outrage levels must be maintained.

LiChess Tools v2.1.47 published. Set the button right (heh!) in the Preferences -> Move list options -> Eval button on the right
Also charting is back, Alt-click added to Copy PGN to copy the variation up to the selected move and fixed a number of bugs.
Thank our friends at Google for taking three days to review a text change for the delay.
