If I am playing a game with a friend and we are connected with google duo or skype in another window, will Lichess flag that as cheating? Just looking for a way to make play more personable.
Why don't you use the lichess in game chat?
Yes, that is an excellent idea. However, I’m looking into more of a social, over the board approach, which I believe a video connection would provide. I recognize such is limited as fees and poor connectivity probably apply if my opponent is in a different country or continent.
I found I can use Google Duo for the video connection. Skype may work but I’ve never tried. No camera on my desktop pc. And all sold out everywhere. I see several approaches:
1) Two windows on computer, one for chess and one for Duo
2) if both of us are on Apple devices, we can use FaceTime. It appears in a mini on top window on iPad if in the chess app
3) to be tested: one device from chess and one for video.

Although if you want to analysis the current game you’re playing, unrated games seem safer.
