@Cedur216 @TCF_Namelecc If you indeed believe that my post is nonsense and not true, explain the OP why he was timed out. It is absolutely clear for me that most bans are set by bots on petty reasons such as number of troll reports, but I am not going to discuss it. Answer the OP question. I don't know the OP situation, but I was in similar situation myself.

@fortrak 1) we elaborated that tournament creators can also timeout. Maybe they are trolly at times, but not "people with interest only to kick other people".
2) The bots are probably set to detect certain words like "curse" or "coward" without paying attention to context. That's how I would explain my own timeouts.

I doubt that... context is always important, it would be a grave mistake to put bots in charge of chat moderation.

#11 We already said that tournament creators can time people out however they want.

@TCF_Namelecc except I was timed out when I facetiously called a GM "coward" for not berserking and even added an emoji to make it obvious, and I was also timed out when I cursed at my own mouse instead of a player. I'd say especially in the latter case, the context was clear enough. I've seen enough pathetic moderators on the internet but I'd stake my life on saying that it was not a human (except, again, a dumb tournament creator).
Besides, how would the human Lichess mod team be able to moderate all the tournaments that people create around the site.
Oh and also let's not forget the countless automated sandbagging/boosting warnings that people complain about in this very forum, where a human moderator could easily check that the people are doing okay

"except I was timed out when I facetiously called a GM "coward" for not berserking and even added an emoji to make it obvious" or maybe the mod saw you were disrespecting another player.
In either case, it was a worthy timeout. Please behave nicer in the future.
