I love the interface of the trainer, and would love to try it on games I've played OTB before I look at the full engine analysis. Is there any way to do this?

When you import your game, there is a slide button for "request computer analysis". Use it, and after the analysis is complete you will have the "Learn from your mistakes" button available.
AFAIK, it impossible to activate "Learn from your mistakes" before a complete analysis has been done (to find your mistakes), so you Just have to avoid looking at the analysis before you hit the "Learn..." button.
