iPhone Authentication Code

Hi all. Hope someone can help. I am a new chess team coach at Miami Beach HS and, ever since I changed my account status to teacher, my iPhone Lichess App will not let me sign in due to "2 Factor Authentication". It gives error saying "Open the 2 factor auth app your device to view your authentication code and verify your identity." The built in iPhone app found under Settings / Apple ID / Password & Security / Get Verification Code - generates a code that DOES NOT WORK. If I try to use a 3rd party Authentication App like "Google Authenticator" I cannot get a code because I must first set up an account using a QR code or setup key. Does Lichess provide this QR/setup key info?? Lastly, if I sign in from a computer and try to disable 2 factor authentication in my account settings, it STILL requires an authentication code but says "You need your password and an authentication code from your authenticator app to disable two-factor authentication. If you lost access to your authentication codes, you can also do a password reset via email." ( FYI - I have not "lost access" to any codes, b/c I was never provided any codes!.)
I don't need to reset my password, but if I do reset it, will that also generate and send me an authentication code?
Am I just missing something super obvious here? Thanks!! Dr. Walter Busse

As far as I know if you reset your password the two-factor authentication will also be disabled.
