I am trying to install Lichess on my web hosting, but I am having trouble understanding the installation process. Is there anyone that can post a simplified or laymans version of installation steps on
a standard web hosting server?

It seems you failed to event read the readme file. There is a section that says:
"Also note that if I provide the source code, I do not offer free support for your lichess instance. I will probably ignore any question about lichess installation and runtime issues."
But because I like you, here is a tip: you suck at coding and systems. You'll never make it. Give up.
What the fuck... I'm going to go out on a limb and say that there isn't an 'installer'. It's not like you're on windows and there's some handy setup.exe installation wizard.

Looking at KraL's post he got as far as installing filezilla and uploading some files.
