One day there will be a chess website that signs up people with Passport or ID. Verification will be lengthy and detailed. Those who cheat will know they are not gonna be able to come back with a different e-mail address. When this website go live, All honest chess players will flow there! I hope Lichess does this first!

Giving out your ID and personal details to some website. Whatever could go wrong...

Well, there are website that verification is mandatory, such as; Foreign exchange websites, government websites and Banks etc.
it is not difficult to achieve this with proper security measures. I believe Lichess has what ti takes to get this done. If ID verification is not an option, sign up through facebook account can be applied.

You should google about the equifax hack and see how safe your stuff is on even the most 'secure' of websites.
To save you the trouble...its not secure at all lol.
In order to such a thing lichess would have to heavily invest in security; not to mention it would be a huge barrier to new users.
A lot of people simply would not want to give their personal info to play chess.
I feel you on the need for a true deterrent against engine users; but this isnt it :(
The facebook idea isnt that bad; but then again, anyone can make a FB account and put whatever info they want in there.
Probably the only real answer would be a required software client one would need to download to play on lichess that logs keystrokes, mouse movement, and mirrors your screen; among other things.

Sounds like somebody is having a bad day because she played too many cheaters.
Don't worry about it. Cheaters will always find ways to cheat, and there will always be people to cry about it.

@Oscillations
3 Games.
700+ Puzzles.
Looks like somebody has found the solution to avoiding cheaters.

There will always be cheating. It is not because any lock can be picked, that you should not lock your door. Just make it harder to make an account, cheat, get banned, and make a fresh account.
Maybe a soft IP ban, when creating a new account from the same IP address requires an ID.

I would immediately move to another site if lichess had ID verification.
And what is wrong with playing against cheaters ? You get your refund.

#8 What do you mean what is wrong? Whats fun in playing chess if you are putting effort to play chess and have fun but opponent uses engine on you. It just kills the desire to play chess!

I get my rating back. I'm happy against cheaters.
An ID verification would only kill the community.
