When I play a game, any game,I don't hear a sound when I move the piece unless I refresh the page.
Sometimes, the board doesnt even show up, only the pieces.
I'm on Firefox on Ubuntu.

I use firefox on ubuntu. Most of the time it works for me. Occasionally I don't hear pieces move but I think from memory it's only one or two moves and then it returns.
What version of firefox are you using?
I guess the first step would be to start firefox with a blank profile with no addons or cache and test.
You could do something like `
mkdir /tmp/ff
firefox -profile /tmp/ff
but there are other ways of creating a new blank profile

that's the same version of firefox I'm using.
ublock origin has nothing to block on lichess.
i've got no idea, maybe delete lichess.org storage, cache and cookies, maybe open the developers console the next time it glitches to see if there's an error message that might be related.
hopefully someone else will have better ideas.

I use Ubuntu although with Chromium. The sounds for moves are inconsistent. I believe it has more to do with the Pulse Audio Server. Try playing some background music while playing a game and see if the lichess move sounds become consistent.
I also notice this on Ubuntu when going To Settings... Sound...Output_Device...Test. When I click on a Speaker Icon to 'Test' it the first part of the sound is clipped if no sound had previously been playing. (Hmm... Just recently updated to 20.04LTS and am no longer getting this clipping here ) Guess I need to play a game and listen closely.
update -- Ok so with Ubuntu 20.04 my sounds are fine regarding lichess moves. Oh and my audio setup is HDMI out thru surround sound receiver, so my earlier problem could have been related to that.
