@TheAstroGuy

Download the app "Google Authenticator", then enter copy your generated code from the app. Come to Lichess, go to the "Two-Factor" page, then paste the code, and enter your account password, click submit.

My chain of problems to use 2FA ....

My first attempt in using 2FA, was to install Authenticator 4.0.3 on my linux computers.
I copied down the same long descriptive QR code that was given from ...
https://lichess.org/account/twofactor
I then entered it manually into all my authenticators installed on each linux computer.
It was a learning curve, but worked out okay.

My next problem was to log into lichess when I was not on my own computer.
Without a cell phone, I needed a 2FA USB key.
I searched in my local stores with no success in finding 2FA USB keys.

Since I don't want to give a phone number to a 2FA app and I don't want to acquire the 2FA from a web site, I'm left with buying a 2FA USB key from the internet, but without a credit card, it causes another problem.

So, can a linux 2FA app be installed on a USB so that I can use that usb at other locations other than home?

Is there a way to install a 2FA app on a portable USB key so that I can access that app from an other computer.
I don't want the USB stick to be bootable. The Standalone 2FA would have to behave like other portable apps on a USB stick.

WinAuth is a portable open-source authenticator for Windows.
So I'm going to try it out on a USB key, with Conty executable for linux.
