The browser bot is just for fun. There is no timeout detection so you have to manually restart the bot omce it loses the event stream ( refresh the page if it stops moving ). If you want a stable and strong bot use the Heroku bot. The Heroku bot detects event stream timeout and opens a new event stream not to speak of having a better connection. It is very rare for the Heroku bot to stop moving entirely.

But then it cannot play variants. Is there any way it can play any other variants other than standard and atomic?

Standard and atomic is only a restriction fot eazychess. Hyper bot plays all variants both in the browser and at Heroku,

The reference bot is https://lichess.org/@/chesshyperbot. It has all ratings including correspondence.
