How to effectively claim a draw with my move in a fast game?

I have lichess' "Claim draw on threefold repetition automatically" set to "When time remaining < 30 seconds," because normally I prefer to have the choice; there are a handful of cases where maybe both my opponent and I would prefer to play on. The problem comes when I do want to claim a draw, but the repetition will occur on my move and my opponent doesn't actually have to repeat on theirs. I have had it happen occasionally that I make a move and go to press the "Claim a draw" button, but before I can press it my opponent makes their move and the option goes away.

Is there a good way for me to claim a draw based on a move I'm about to make, or currently making, without giving my opponent an opportunity to move? For instance, if I press "offer a draw" and then make a move recreating a board position for the third time, will this be interpreted as a draw claim? It would be nice to have some reliable way of doing this that isn't dependent on having faster fingers than my opponent.

#1 Offer the draw first, then play the threefold move. You're welcome.

#2 if opponent wanted to accept the draw, he would also claim the threefold, instead of playing a different move and avoiding the draw.

#3 The opponent has no choice here.

@Toadofsky Good to know! I'll try that next time. Does it work even if the opponent declines the draw offer before I can make my move?

#5 Hopefully... at one point I believe it did, but I've never tempted fate like that.
