My tablet at the gym shows me the mobile version and its not possible to play because most of the board is hidden. I haveno control on the browser settings on this device. Is this some kind of url I could use to access the desktop Version or at least aprevious version of lichess since it worked before?
Hard to say. You definitely can't access a previous version of the site. In Chrome on Android and some other browsers, you can request the Desktop site in the menu (i.e. where you do stuff like bookmark a page, not the settings menu).
Though the thing about the board being hidden definitely sounds weird. Lichess should show up correctly on pretty much all devices that use a supported browser. It sounds like maybe the browser on that device is simply too old, in which case there probably won't be any way to make it work.

Can you not go into lichess settings and make the board smaller. Try dragging the bottom right of the bottom right square.
