How can I save an image of a chess diagram with arrows?

I don't want to take a screenshot, but instead get a direct image from Lichess of the board with arrows. Does anyone know how to accomplish this?

You should tell us why you are trying to do this and why a screenshot is not sufficient.

I already know how to take a partial screenshot. I was just wondering if there was some setting to allow arrows to be shown in Lichess's built-in screenshot feature, as it's a lot more convenient than going through the process of cutting out the background.

If you're using Firefox, you can use its screenshot feature rather than your OS's. Right click and select Take Screenshot, and you can select the board which will automatically be cropped since it is an HTML element. However, it is not perfect because you will get the board resize marker and the background behind the rounded corners. It may be sufficient for your purposes though.

But again, you haven't told us why you want to do this. It is possible there is a better solution, but no one can tell you it unless you tell us your intention. Say why you want an image of the board, and perhaps you should read about the XY problem at the link I posted in my previous post.

Thanks for your response. I want an image of the board to provide a chess diagram with arrows for visual demonstrations. HTML cropping isn't great as you mentioned, because parts of the background remain in the image. I have some alternatives to the built-in feature, but none of them are superior in speed to the built-in Lichess screenshot function. I've read about the XY problem, but I'm not sure that it applies here, as my intentions are pretty clear.

Thanks for the info, but it's still vague. What are the "visual demonstrations?" Are you sending the picture to someone? Are you displaying it in a slideshow in a class? Are you printing it out? It is important to know, because if you are projecting it in a class, for example, it is likely better to use a study, since you can make moves on the board and draw arrows in real time.

You might be interested in this: https://github.com/michael-i-f-george/FEN2SVG It doesn't do arrows, unfortunately, but if it's just a one-time use (again, I would need to know your use case), you could add them manually. It has the advantage of exporting to SVG. If you know a bit of programming, you could modify it to be able to draw arrows as well, although you would need some way of inputting them.

I believe it does apply here as I've said above. Your intentions are still not clear to me.

If you install LiChess Tools (https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/langlhlcknngldkeliapahbhbcmlcbcj) it enhances the button for Board image (also adds it in some places it is not in Lichess native) and you get everything on the board.

#8 gave me an optimal solution. Thanks a lot for your time and help though, your proposals could definitely be useful in the future.
