how can i inactive or close the chat when i am playing a game?

Select the notes tab. It's a recent change, instead of the button you switch to the notes tab now.

Would not it be a good idea to set the tab to notes by default (when it's not yet set in the browser's storage) ?
May be it would nip the question in the bug (I meant bud) ...

The reactions are more about hiding the chat, hence my suggestion

I can relate to this reaction because I find the chat to be an intrusion. I have experienced enough abuse to prefer no chat altogether.

I understand that some users want the chat.
Now, if the chat was hidden by default, would there be tons of reactions on how you can show the chat ? ... that is the question

I notice that new posts on this topic don't mention the hide button anymore ... so the change of paradigm is working

Someone needs to come up with a browser extension to fix it.
