Help tab, Kid mode for school students

When a new user logs into this site for the first time, kid mode should be proposed.

For the new players that are already on the site and have a rating below 1500, an inbox or notification message could be sent to inform them of the kid mode option and the zen mode options.

When someone is new to the site, kid mode is not easy to see.

Solution:

On the home page, I think some might need a tab called HELP:
Lichess.org PLAY LEARN WATCH COMMUNITY TOOLS HELP

When you hover over the help tab: This would unroll ...
Lichess help
Lichess tour (user guides)
Keyboard shortcuts
Send feedback (Links you to the feedback forum)
Restart in kid mode
Report form
Contact links (contact@lichess.org)
Donate
About

The site would have a help tab like most software's have.
This feature request would be very user friendly for the new users.

It's very easy to find. There is a full tab in the settings named "Kid mod" almost at the top. This should be sufficient no?

Let's be honest, noone uses kid mode.

It might be easy to find, but most register and want to start playing.
Parents ask me the steps to get to kid mode.
People have asked me where to find the contact to talk to or email the owner or chat with a moderator.
Even when we see contact on the bottom right of the home page, when clicked we still don't see the contact@lichess.org
Every thing should ideally be within 3 clicks of a mouse.

If a kid does not know there is a kid mode, they will register them selves on the site, without asking their parents and use the chat and team and forums.

If a kid saw the feature, by asking if they still are going to school, then if they answer yes, they get set with kid mode. Since they have the password, it will not prevent them from using the password to get out of kid mode. If it's the parents that register their kid, then the parents will have used their email address and have their password that the kid does not have.

It's not easy to find something when a person does not know about a feature and so it becomes extremely hard to find when you're not searching for it.

I strongly believe the above tab help list is going to be a plus for Lichess.

Totally agree.

With all kids currently off school you need to make it as straight-forward and easy as possible for kids / parents / teachers to set up the safest mode possible for kids to play, enjoy & learn chess. At the moment it's not obvious and a bit hard to stumble upon.

Consider it an investment in to nurturing future chess prodigies and champions who will go on to promote lichess.
