Hacking lichess is it possible??????

I played someone who played a very trippy line but only a few moves in and then just sat and waited for the time to go out, so while waiting I looked at player's account just a glance but when I returned player had more than ten minutes and I had timed out???!!!! What's going on!!!!!

A server restart, you have been notified 10 minutes in advance.

And that's usual? Thousands of games been lost unfair! Can you fix that glitch? It's really annoying.
If you can't don't worry

Think of it like a pit stop in a car race. The driver is warned to come in for maintenance, even if they don’t want to, because without it, they won’t be able to finish the race. Similarly, websites need regular maintenance to run smoothly. It might interrupt things for a bit, but it’s necessary to ensure everything works well in the long run.

Interrupt things!!!??? I had more time than my opponent and he was almost timed out and my time was stolen and my opponent had more than ten minutes in a ten minute rapid???? And you say I was warned??? Nope, I don't play chess where they blame the victim

You probably mean this game:

In case of a server restart, the players may get some additional time. A couple of seconds. As it was pretty much at the beginning of the game, a player might have been pushed over the initial 10 minutes.

The point is: most connections automatically resume after a server restart. But as it is the internet, and thousands of different devices and browsers, sometimes things go wrong. If you notice that your opponent doesn't move for multiple minutes in a rapid game, and a server restart was announced, you simply reload the page and see that it was actually your connection that didn't work out. Might also happen if something goes wrong on your end, without the need for a server restart.

Playing the victim card here? Doesn't feel appropriate.

ridiculous time controls worries. since when time has become the main player or strategic concern in chess?
