Hi there,
for quite some time the lichess app told me that my Chrome browser was outdated. As this was definately not the case I ignored the message. Now the website, too, gives me that warning when visiting with the latest Firefox.
What is going on? Did I maybe deactivate any browser feature required by lichess?
Thanks!

These devs are so anti windows that your best bet is to play lichess through a phone app if you have windows

I'm confused as to why the lichess app would mention your Chrome browser is outdated. The whole purpose of the app is to not use a browser.

The app uses some built in web components and has complained in the past about my amazon fire 7. It's never mentioned chrome in my experience, though, but perhaps it depends on the device.

Well, I have an Android 7.0 phone. I find this really weird as I don't get what lichess actually wants.

What is the exact error message? Have you disabled/uninstalled any apps on your device? Especially anything browser related such as the system webview.

Thank you for the hint concernig WebView! Since Android 7.0 Chrome is used for web rendering and WebView is usually disabled by default.
In my Android developer options the WebView implementation was set to "Android WebView". I switched it to "Chrome Stable" and now it works fine.
