Feature Requests: Remove redundancy and add new time control

I love Lichess. Motivated by that love, I propose the following recommendation.
I hope that my words are heard by the developers of Lichess.

Both, the website and the Lichess app have a redundancy on the screen for quick pairings. You observe the following image:

The buttons marked with numbers 1 and 2 fulfill exactly the same function. Both activate this screen:

I suggest that the space used for CUSTOM be replaced by a new time control.

I propose that Lichess developers add a 30-minute time control.

The idea I suggest would look something like this:

In this way, Lichess will offer 2 options for bullet, 4 options for blitz, 1 for rapid and 2 for classical.

Why do I suggest a 30-minute time control?
First-time users who are just learning to play chess and users who are slow thinking lack confidence to play bullet, blitz or rapid. Even when we play Classical 15 + 15 we feel hurt by time. In my personal case, I have lost games quite often simply because my time is running out. Most frustrating of all is that they were games where I had an overwhelming material advantage over my opponent. This is very demoralizing. Also, I am of the same opinion as Mikhail Moiseyevich Botvinnik. He said: "fast chess is not serious."

Sites like Chess.com offer an option of this class. You observe the following image taken from the website of that server:

It would be great if Lichess offered such an option!

Who supports my proposal?

I support this proposal. It's sensible and seems well-thought-out. Encouraging longer games is a good way to encourage better chess. I think there's a a real chance that if the 15+5 control is no longer the longest ready-made option, more people will use it since users tend to avoid the extremes when offered a menu of options. I like it!

Thank you for your support, GPS0113!

I must add another argument to my previous statement.

If you enter the waiting room and observe for a few minutes, you will notice that many users use personalized 30-minute games. This means that there is a lot of demand for this time control.

This screenshot proves it. I got it in less than 30 seconds.

Don't forget the third way: The "Play" (or Jugar) drop down menu has a "Create a game" option as well...

The comment of whdahl in item # 4 is correct. The redundant function that I refer to at the beginning of this topic is repeated 3 times. However, since the item mentioned by whdahl is part of the main menu there is no conflict. Its location there is very convenient.

I agree with the redundancy, but not with 30+0. Instead it should be rapid 5+5.
30+0 is about the same speed as 15+15, but in 15+15 you cannot flag as you get 15 seconds of increment. Increment chess is much better: it is the FIDE standard and it avoids pointless time scrambles with e.g. K+R vs. K+R.

Regards, tpr!
Regarding your comment of item 6, I think the following:

I play chess to relax and make friends. It is difficult to relax with time controls 5+5. The rapid also does not facilitate the use of chat, an essential resource for socializing with other users. We already live in a world that is too fast, I would like to slow down. That is why I propose another Classical.

In comment # 6, the user named tpr states: "30+0 is about the same speed as 15+15". This made me doubt, so I made some calculations.

I used the advanced search to get the data of my Classical Games lost due to falling flag. Based on the 12 most recent games, I obtained the following numbers:

https://imgur.com/wUjEb7q

Thanks to the increments, I got an additional 6.73 minutes.
If I add the initial 15 minutes, the average result is: 21.73 minutes for Classical 15+15 games.
This number is 8.27 minutes below my 30+0 proposal.

Conclusion: the statement of tpr is false. The difference is SIGNIFICANT.

I like the idea... but instead of 30 + 0 better 30 + 15 or 30 + 30.
In my country, chess players of lower categories use 30 + 30.

Players on Lichess this week: 144k rapid, 75k classical. I support the idea of adding new time control presets, but the next one should be rapid rather than classical.
