i'm sure someone alredy asked this. but i couldn't find it, the reason why there is no way to check the timestamp on chat messages
sometimes playing games is long and some messags get lost in context because there is no way to know when they were said
could be an option tougle on/off or at least on long games

In a game chat, last move played is even more useful for context than a timestamp. There is a userscript which does that:

that script will be useful, but i still don't get the reason behind the decision to not facilitate that information...
