Feature Request: Convert pawn automatically in bullet

That said, using keys on the keyboard for promotion is probably not a good idea. The Shift+Click action is already used for drawing arrows. It would be bad design to have it do two things. As for Caps Lock, you may have it enabled or disabled for various other reasons beyond your chess game. If you're like me, you don't even have Caps Lock on your keyboard. Finally, Caps Lock is not at all established in chess programs or around lichess for performing that task. So the discoverability of the feature is low and would likely leave people who have Caps Lock on baffled when their piece automatically promote. All in all, I reckon using the keyboard for this action would result in a really poor design.

Thus, I would not suggest either of those solutions, as they lead to UI anti-patterns. I think it would be best as a multiple-selection option.

Speaking about my previous idea, I agree that holding a key isn't best solution, as it could be reckognised by browser itself for something different. Also, always promote to queen in bullet would be good, no matter premoving or not. But not for all variants. For antichess you probably don't want it at all, for 3-check often good is to promote to knight. But for atomic, horde, koth, regular chess - it will be definetelly helpfull. Other solution that come to mind is to have a small check-box right in the game window, to quickly change the auto-promoting method. If unchecked - it uses global setting, if you check it - it will be allways auto-promoting. You can name "AP" in top of it.

flugsio, this definetely will be better and faster to promote . just double click on same area to promote to queen, no need to move cursor.

Wow, 2.5 months old. Well I got around to implement #13 now so it should be easier to choose queen/night.
