feature request - upload position picture, then convert to FEN

Hi all,

Maybe an idea to be able to upload a screen shot of any position, which lichess then converts to FEN notation for the Analysis Board ??

Lichess is the best :)

cheers, Chris

Well, you can use https://en.lichess.org/editor

also, no need tor this feature tbh. Any chess site or program with respect for it's user gives them FEN with the click of a few buttons.

Ah, the editor, silly me :)

Ok, pls show me how that works with a screen shot of a position in for instance one of Kingscrusher's youtube video's.

#3 Right now that would be a manual process, although if you have the image an you can learn FEN, I don't understand why you'd need the editor. For example, here's a simple checkmate:
k7/Q7/K7/8/8/8/8/8 - - 0 1

Forsyth–Edwards Notation:

You're asking Lichess to build image recognition software to save you a few seconds on the board editor

There is a open source bot on reddit that converts images to FEN.

Not much use for me because typing out a FEN by hand is easy. That might not be true for everybody.
