Hi any chance we can get an application for desktops, so I can have more ability to configure my playing environment, similar to Playchess and ICC ??

Don't think so.
Because even playchess is not able to support all Operating Systems. Would be very much work for very little benefit.
(I have Linux as Operating System...what do you have?)
The main operating system for desktops is Windows, I would suggest starting with that. Playchess and ICC both have apps for Windows. It is a much better playing experience with far more setup options than just an Internet GUI.
do you really think the amount of customization possibilities are dependent on whether you use a desktop or web client? these are just two different approaches on how to provide the GUI.
I personally like the idea of not having to install any additional software besides an internet browser. The service is always usable and (mostly) independent of the operation system of the computer.
Apps are certainly much more configurable, go play on Playchess and ICC then you will know that. There will still be an Internet Lichess, that GUI is not going away :)
