Hi lichess leaderboard climbers,
I (https://lichess.org/@/EmperorBundaloy) see that I am rank #427 in blitz with a rating of 2668. I believe this is consistent with the blitz leaderboards, from one time where I was briefly in the 200 (in bullet maybe?), https://lichess.org/player/top/200/blitz.
But the stat distribution shows only 88 players rating 2675 or higher, or 131 with rating 2650 or higher: https://lichess.org/stat/rating/distribution/blitz
I believe I'm top ~400 on the main leaderboard, but top ~100 on the stat distribution chart, due to a different list of players based on players going idle.
The stat distribution chart is based on "blitz players this week", of which there are 671,740 as of this writing. But the FAQ says the leaderboard also requires one rated game in the last week, https://lichess.org/faq#leaderboards.
Is the FAQ perhaps outdated, and it actually includes all active players in the last 30 days, or something?
And if so, if I'm #427 on the "main" leaderboard, what is that out of? Must be more than 671,740 players right?
Thanks!

IIUC these are not numbers of players with 2650 (2675) and higher but players with rating in corresponding interval of width 25, i.e. 131 players (now 133) have rating in [2650, 2675) or [2637.5, 2662.5) or something like that. When you hover over the part of the graph showing one of the "peaksitting anomalies", you get e.g. 8348 for 1975 and 9031 for 2000, i.e. clearly not "this or higher".
For cummulative values, you would have to hover over the yellow curve but there you get only percentages not player counts, e.g. 2650 is "99.9%".

Aha! That explains it. That is a strange way of presenting the info, I would love to see absolute number above a certain level, rather than adding up all the boxes.
Thank you!
