Lichess, people keep on abusing the delete option constantly and it's spamming up the forums, I think it should be removed.

Yes, the delete option is used to often, but if you saw that your post was wrong, you should can delete your own posts.
Maybe we should make it so that we can still see who the posts are from. And who uses the delete function too often will be warned or temporarily blocked.

You're right #4, but in real life pencils have erasers and we already have the edit function in lichess.

I try not to edit too often, but I will use it when I notice that I can get my point across much clearer. I also use it if I'm wrong. I'll leave my original comment, add a clear "Edit: I'm incorrect because XYZ". In this case, it helps maintain thread continuity without spreading misinformation.

And there can be good uses of the delete function. If a user creates an advertising thread and gets informed that it's against TOS, they may be more likely to delete than edit.

#2 I understand that, that's the reason why the delete button should be there and it's also the reason why I wanted it back. Now children are just gaming the button now, it's bonkers.
