In the past on the Analysis Board I have been able to click and drag across a group of moves and copy them via Ctrl-C.
The ability to click and drag no longer works. Is this by design or something unintentional?
If it is something that can be corrected then I would greatly appreciate it, as I use the Analysis Board this way quite a bit, and without this capability I need to manually reenter the moves at the destination, which is very time-consuming.
Thanks -

Hi!
As a workaround,
you could try to right-click on the final move,
and choose "Copy variation PGN".
This should fill your clipboard with the moves so you can paste them elsewhere.

That's a possibility, but oftentimes I have multiple branches within multiple branches, so that would end up as quite a mess. I can also copy from the moves at the bottom, and that works fine if I'm only dealing with one or two lines. However, since what I am doing oftentimes gets pretty deep into the weeds, it does take quite a while to comb through all of the moves to find where I am.

Yes! It was removed, probably by accident, in the latest changes. It should be brought back.
It was a useful feature, and I have used it a lot.
(The only problem was that it did not preserve spaces between moves.)
I got help with workaround from TotalNoob69. His extension is excellent.

Hello,
This was intentionally removed https://github.com/lichess-org/lila/commit/e3d758680db5c564fbb75ed821ff1cae7f7f159a, I personally think improving it would have been better, but it's not so simple and the ratio work+maintenance/usability would probably not been good.

"they're not suitable for copy-pasting, they're not valid PGN"
It's unfortunate that this is explicitly being prevented just because it does not produce valid pgn - I have no problems with adding spaces so that it works. It was so much faster than typing all of the moves in (in which case making the smallest mistake produces invalid pgn).
I have added the extension to Chrome, though there is so much there that I may never come across how it will allow me to do the simple copy and paste - kind of like installing Photoshop to lighten an image.

I was able to figure out how to use the extension to copy the pgn, but it includes the entire line from move 1, as well as including all of the times and evaluations, so removing all of this information will probably take longer than trying to type everything in.

"I personally think improving it would have been better""
It would be.
Also, there is no good reason to remove the select/copy/paste feature.
I have been using the copy-paste feature for years. Adding spaces and formatting all needed information is easier than typing all the moves.
Since there is no harm in keeping this select/copy/paste feature, please restore it.

If you press shift, it will copy the branch after the selected move.

I am not sure how to copy without times and evaluations. Sometimes, it copies without evaluations, and for the study branches it does not include times; I do not know the rules. I just started using this extension, and I am unfamiliar with it.
I agree that copy/paste was handy despite not being perfect. There is no reason to remove it.

It's just bizarre that they have gone out of their way to ensure that this cannot be used.
Why in the world would anyone do that?
