Chess960 rating list

@Toadofsky Thank you!

It's the least I could do... no need to thank me, since I provide no guarantee this issue will ever go anywhere.

I agree with different ratings specially with what you say
"chess960 (or freestyle chess) is not just a chess-based fun variant such as atomic or "three checks". Rather, it's the extended version of the standard chess"
It is exactly what I think about 960. It is not a variant, it is not a game with the same pieces and board but with different rules.
It is the reason because different ratings are necessary

I am currently outside the top 10 in Chess960 even after 21 consecutive wins. There are surely many stronger Chess960 players than me on Lichess, but many of them are not active enough (here) to be on the list. Getting to the top 10 has become very difficult, and dropping out of the top 50 list is extremely unlikely.
The upside is that I need not care about ratings, can enjoy the game, berserk when I want to (which happens very rarely) or play in some prize event (if there is any) without being afraid of losing 50 rating points, which might easily happen to me on a bad day.

Everyone knows that money rules the world. Promoting fischer chess these days is like escaping from communism. New chess federations mean less profits for Fide. Fide players are kind of trapped in this world because they are bound by the rules. For example, websites where you can play variants as an addition (fun) will behave similarly, I would like to be wrong. Nowadays, classical chess is becoming learned computer analysis. This is the main reason why our population of fischer random lovers is growing. We do not want to lose ourselves for money and be some kind of "chess zombies", while not losing the beauty of this game. I think the idea of different rankings for fischer random is okay. First of all, it is connected with the technical aspects of the website that has already been created. Whether this will be possible and whether this website wants to develop in this direction should be asked to the owner of this website.

It will be exciting to see how this develops in the wake of Carlsen's withdrawal from the world rapid and blitz. He has planned something big for the coming year with freestyle.

I'm not sure about that. From what I heard so far, they are planning a series of invite only tournaments for selected top players. In other words, not something that would address availability of Chess960 events for general public on its own. On the other hand, the money and the publicity about it might bring attention to Chess960 in a similar way as the Queen's Gambit show brought more attention to chess. And that may be what FIDE is afraid of most, after all, as if that happens, big part of the attention and money would likely be at the expense of regular "518" chess.

Looks like fide's totally on the ropes about what's happening with freestyle. The big question is if they'll throw in the towel eventually ?
