cheating was detected while playing a game with my friend. However, I did not cheat

I received a warning on lichess.org that cheating was detected while playing a game with my friend. However, I did not cheat, and none of my applications were open. I just want to know the reason for this.
The only thing I noticed was that the VPN was on, could that be the reason?

Anyone experiencing these kinds of issues ?

Guess the only issue is you not telling the truth

Yes. Same here. Is there any way to block certain players?

I lost points due to a player not following TOS.

You lost points because... you lost

And quite frankly at a rating of 500 (Blitz) , 99.8 percent are playing better than you. At 850 (Bullet) you are in the lowest 5 percent. The chance of losing any significant amount of rating points to a cheater is extremely low.

TOS violation is not equal to "cheater".

Also, it is very unclear how your story ("Yes. Same here.") would relate to the topic of this thread at all.

If you feel you've received a warning in error, you can discuss it at http://lichess.org/appeal . Keep in mind that using a chess engine, even during a "casual" game, is cheating, per lichess's Fair Play rules.

He is not marked as a cheater by Lichess

Before you all pile in on him any more, perhaps the lichess message referred to his friend..and not him ?!

@Tbootpoo losing one game from "cheat detected" doesn't flag your account yet.
