A one time option to change the user name of account should be given. I had created this account childishly but it's a bit inappropriate. A one time option would let people with same issues update their names as well.

You can close your account and create a new one (since it's new anyway), however change username is not possible for the moment.

From the signup page, as of 11 November 2022:

Make sure to choose a family-friendly username. You cannot change it later and any accounts with inappropriate usernames will get closed!

Then, https://lichess.org/faq#change-username.

One of the technical reasons: the username is the _id field as well in the MongoDB user document, and MongoDB doesn't allow _id to be changed.
