Can't see followers on profile

42# if i am not mistaken then he indirectly wanted to point that followers for followers and other spam emerged cause people want to compete for followers..when they are jealous with one's followers then they have urge to increase theirs....this jealousy and urge to beat others led to higher number of spams...though only @agnivo2008 can clarify it...my opinion is that the followers system should not have been removed.. further agree or not but lichess is deteriorating in terms of social connectivity...you won't remove a whole feature just because of few spams...even there are many spams in forums that doesn't mean you will close forums..its somewhat disgusting....

Spot on. I'll have to follow you for this one.

Taking away the followers section is a really, really bad idea.
It means that now I cannot:
- Send messages to my friends at Lichess (since I cannot find them)
- Challenge my friends at Lichess (for the same reason)

I haven't noticed any problems with bragging about followers or trading followers. Even if such problems exist, I doubt they are really serious problems, and even if they are, I doubt removing the followers section is a proportional solution to that problem. It seems more like a badly designed overreaction.

(Saying that, I realize it's extremely unlikely anyone from the development team will ever get to see or read this post, since their overall attention for feedback and bug issues seems to be on Lichess' Github page. I would recommend someone to post something about the issue on that forum instead, and be extremely patient, to make sure the development team becomes aware of the issue.)

As a chess coach, I used to go to my follow list to find my students and check their games.
Since today, due to this unexpected update, I have to remember all my students names, search them and go to their profiles.
I would like to see a moderator or Lichess developer explain why this has been implemented.

But why not add the friends feature instead of replacing followers with it @thibault??
