Can't Copy Text from In - Game Chat Box

Just played a game who wasn't speaking English, so I tried copying the text so I could paste it into a translator but I can't do it...I know we used to be able?

Hmm, strange. I can copy text from the notes box - just not the chat box. I'm using 8.1 and up to date Chrome.

Sorted it. I had to disable Javascript as per this site....

I tried to disable Java, but after it I can't even play, nothing works.
But it's a problem to copy from the chat. Is there some solution? Ctrl+F5 and double clicking doesn't work.

Using chrome. And this issue is already for a few months. But also when I ask the opponent if he could copy, they always say it's impossible for them as well.

And this issue appears only when the game is in progress. When it's finished or aborted I can easily copy from the chat box.
