better anti cheat!!

Well, if you have a hunch at someone cheating, you could put your reasoning into words also? And link the games affected? Links and explanations are not just asked for fun.

@master_of_DARKNESS You can literally just do that? Maybe just "pls check this guy" isn't going to help much but if you at least link the game you found suspicious (or ideally multiple ones) or even better, briefly explain what made you suspicious, that's already more than enough for mods to take a closer look.

@benwerner Well thats my problem right? If you go to "report a cheat" it says: "Paste the link to the game(s) and explain what is wrong about this user's behaviour. Don't just say "they cheat", but tell us how you came to this conclusion."

Now I don't mind linking the game, but I can't really explain how I came to the conclusion my opponent is a cheater, it's just a hunch based on me playing alot of games and experience. I got nothing more to base my claim on.

So, I need someone with cheat-detection-tools to do the checking for me, therefore "Can you please check if this guy is honest or not" should be enough of a report, along with the questionable game played of course.

If you are not even able to express what is wrong with your opponent, maybe he is playing fair? Without any arguments, your hunches are probably as valuable as a random investigation.

It should be easier to report, as in "Can you please check if this guy is honest or not" should be enough of a report.

That is a fair point, but you fail to consider the other side of the equation. Many, many players want the moderators to check every single one of their losses. I hate to state the obvious, but most chess games result in a loss for one of the players. Thus, it is simply impossible to have a human moderator check every single loss occurring on lichess or any other chess website. They would need more moderators than there are players. The easier it is to report, the fewer reports can actually be checked thoroughly by a human moderator. That is the main reason why lichess requires more details. Not because you need to provide any evidence. But because you need to first ponder whether you actually believe your opponent cheated. Or whether your hunch is based on the fact that you just lost a chess game.

#15 I was under the impression lichess had a more or less automated system for cheat-detection that one could run a perceived cheater through.

Indeed, there are automated systems. One of them is triggered simply by requesting a computer analysis. But reports do not trigger any automated systems, reports are reviewed by human moderators.

#17 When i said automated systems I was referring to the clarkerubber/irwin anti-cheat-detection-tool on github. Since the computer analysis showing for example 8 acp and 0 inaccuracies, 0 blunders means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

I got nothing but a gut feeling to go on when I report a guy.

If I could send in a simple "is this guy honest" to the Irwin program, I'd be very happy. Then again, I might be completely mistaken what the Irwin program is.

Thanks.
