Auto Analysis on Game’s End (Feature Request)

Hi,

It would be great to have an option that automatically initiates game analysis right after a match ends, without needing to click any button. This feature would encourage players to review their matches and could help combat tilt.

It would most likely be too resource intensive for the servers running computer analysis.

Sorry, I think I misspoke. What I meant was to automatically enter analysis mode with the local Stockfish, without directly requesting server analysis. There could be an option to go straight to analysis and another option to always turn on Stockfish when entering analysis mode. I believe that local analysis, since it’s available to everyone, shouldn’t significantly draw on server resources.

"Servers" as in random people lending their CPU to everyone, yes. If you want to help with that: https://lichess.org/get-fishnet . I don't think a lot of people would use it. If you're playing in an arena you don't have the time to analyse and the typical quick pairing player usually wants to play as many games as possible in their free time.

Edit: Post #3 came in while I was writing, so the resources for the local analysis is not the key anymore, but other points are still valid.

"If you're playing in an arena you don't have the time to analyse"

  • In a tournament, this option would not be read by the system to avoid disrupting the user experience.

"the typical quick pairing player usually wants to play as many games as possible in their free time"

  • That’s why it would be an option you could enable or disable in the preferences. The issue you raised is interesting because it gave me the idea to place this option in the board menu, so that users can easily enable or disable it whenever they want, just by clicking a button once.

"If you want to help with that: lichess.org/get-fishnet ."

  • I didn’t know that existed! Wow, that’s so cool! I like Lichess more and more every day. I’ll look for a place where I can see the number of users who contribute and the main nationalities. Thank you.
