App vs beta app: features missing in beta

Can someone walk me through the advantages of the beta app?

Is there a development page, a roadmap?

I can only stumble upon missing features,

  • can't set the create game panel as my home page
  • can't see followed players activity and a lot of other infos on the home page
  • can't disable piece magnification
    ... ,
and on a bunch of annoyances, beginning with this "more" obsession, need to tap for more more and more just to see if usual features are still there and where.

Any program rebuilding from scratch is always a user's painful experience. Was that really necessary? The regular app is good enough, it would be wise to start from here, instead of shuffling everything around, in the throws of redesign frenzy.

We had to find a reason to pay a mobile developer sixty thousand dollars instead of increasing site moderation budget by 60%.

As you said: "Beta"

Many features that are not available will be added, it will just take some time

The current APP that everyone knows is in EOL (End-of-Life) status

The current APP technology is very old and the Beta is a rewrite from scratch for new technologies

As it is clear, it is neither ready nor finished

But it is for people to test the features and report problems that exist
Or would you prefer that no one did any testing and out of nowhere the current APP was deleted with a single update full of problems?

In addition, you can follow the updates of the new APP on GitHub, just check lichess.org/source for the repositories associated with the new app.

The line of development is clear at this beta stage. Main design choices are already made. For example, it seems that one of the intentions of this new design is simplifying the interface, but the choice of hiding many features behind a proliferation of "More" submenus is wrong, annoying and inelegant. When simplification is the design goal, the standard solution is to offer a single overall choice between two different interfaces, the "simplified" and the "complete" one. There is even some app that offers a third choice, the "for dummies" interface. Personally I think a single complete interface is perfectly ok, but a second simplified one is possible. Not this more more more nonsense.

I ask again, is there a roadmap accessible to users?

Straw man argument. Porting ≠ redesigning. The former doesn't automatically imply the latter.

In addition, you can follow the updates of the new APP on GitHub,

Where is the deputed channel for beta testers' feedback?
